what this work is

I help people get free.

Free from what?

Free from the same arguments, the same disappointments, the same fears, the same frustrations. Free from our reactivity. Free from the loops of feeling hurt, acting out blame, retreating in shame, and collapsing in numbness. Free from feeling stuck.

These symptoms may have been diagnosed as anxiety, depression, PTSD or other labels. Whatever the name, the problem remains: the patterns continue and the solutions don’t work, or only work temporarily.

I’ve been told things would change before, and it hasn’t work or it hasn’t lasted. Why is this different?

Most therapeutic approaches seek to manage symptoms. This is very important and very helpful; I recommend that everyone has a robust set of tools to care for themselves. However, soothing the symptoms does not mean resolving the cause.

This looks quite different than typical cognitive approaches to mental health because the concern is less about how things look immediately than whether we are reaching the source of the distress.

I work with people to resolve the cause of their symptoms so they don’t have to manage them forever. That doesn’t mean we’re looking to “understand” or create a narrative about why these symptoms are here. We’re looking to resolve the injury together, in real time, with our work.

Is it possible to actually see these things change?

Yes. I know it’s possible because I have completed patterns that I thought were permanent parts of me, and have seen my clients do the same. I have seen the “immovable” be moved, I have seen things that clients have described as “being there forever” complete and not return. I know that our bodies and minds are deeply resilient and driven to wholeness and wellbeing. When given the chance to naturally recover, human beings have the capacity to resolve even the deepest wounds.

How do we do this?

The most important part of my work is creating trust and safety with clients so that we can approach the most difficult experiences they carry. Once we have a connection, we begin to connect with the unconscious places of pain that are unresolved and calling for attention.

Unconscious resolution must be met through unconscious means – accessing the pain beyond our understanding of it into the source of it. This is why somatic work was developed. Somatic healing attends to the unconscious injuries that are revealed through the body, and allows for resolution in the same field.

Human beings have the innate capacity to heal from even the worst traumas. Our work is to create the conditions for those skills to emerge and complete.

If this resonates with you, sparks curiosity or excitement, please reach out to connect.

Whether or not we work together, thank you for searching for what you want. I have deep respect for anyone taking the courageous path toward liberation.
